I would like to announce that the Virtual Object System (VOS) version
0.21.0 has been released.

New features in this version (For those who are unfamiliar with VOS,
see "About VOS" below):

* Major new features is the VOS Infrastructure Protocol (VIP), a new
transport protocol built on UDP to support low-latency messaging and
multiple parallel data streams in a single connection.

* The VOS 3D Browser Ter'Angreal now has a wxWidgets-based GUI.  GUI
supports chatting, loading new avatars, bookmarking worlds and loading
worlds from COD files and more.

* Many improvements to the VOS plugin to the Crystal Space 3D engine

* Better Windows support (compiles under MinGW).  Now provides a
Windows exe installer.

* Debian packages available for x86 via apt-get

* Should now compile and run on OS X


About VOS and the Interreality Project

The Interreality project is a collection of Open Source, Free Software
projects based on the Virtual Object System (VOS) platform. The goal
of the Interreality project is to develop a free and open platform for
multiuser 3D virtual reality and interactive, collaborative 3D virtual
spaces.  The VOS is the software infrastructure that makes this vision
real.  VOS is a powerful object-oriented networking platform with many
applications in and beyond virtual reality.  It is the basis for
Ter'Angreal, a general-purpose browser application for entering and
participating in 3D worlds.  The Interreality project welcomes
interested developers, artists, world builders and end users who would
like to make real the vision of the 3D Internet.  The VOS community is
small but growing and we invite you to join us.
