GTK+'s licence is LGPL, not GPL.

Also, GTK+ can interact with OpenGL via GtkGLExt.

Also, with regard to the language issue, Gtkmm is worth pointing out.
Gtkmm is a very high quality modern C++-aware C++ wrapper for GTK+.
