VIP has had some testing. But a writeup of more general VOS performance would be very useful for people trying to understand VOS and decide whether to use it, and for our own knowlege to use when we are building our own systems and applications.
Some things to test:
- Pure VIP throughput, latency, etc. in a controlled LAN and on the Internet
- How does memory usage grow with number of Vobjects with certain relations (e.g. a binary tree or N-way tree of depth M); with number of connected peer sites?
- How does responsiveness change with more clients connected, continuously sending/recieving messages. On controlled LAN and on the Internet.
